The greatest trading rule of all is this:
The more strategies we test, the higher our odds of achieving above-average returns.
This is the essence of quant trading.
However, even for tech-savvy professionals, quant trading can be challenging. Finding trading strategies to test is time-consuming. Implementing them on our own is error-prone. And you might question yourself: Are these strategies I'm seeing all over the internet really profitable?
This is why Quantitativo exists. Quantitativo helps you learn & implement trading strategies so you can build conviction and improve the odds of making above-market returns.
To that end, I will share an article with quant trading strategies, insights, and ideas every week.
My objective is not to give you any ready-to-deploy strategies (although this might eventually happen).
My objective is to show you ideas, spark your curiosity, and help you develop the habit of designing and testing your own ideas.
Because the more strategies we test, the higher our odds of achieving above-average returns.
We work in order to become… rather than to achieve.
The focus should not be on finding any particular profitable strategy. Because someday, that specific strategy will stop working.
The focus should be on becoming someone who is always creating and testing new strategies.
The accomplishment of finding a particular profitable strategy is fleeting.
Who we become - a person always searching for new ideas - lasts.
Who am I?
My name is Carlos. I'm an aerospace engineer who started a career at a famous Swiss bank, became an entrepreneur, and sold two companies. I also led the expansion of a tech unicorn into some countries around the globe.
Several years ago, in my Master's degree, I had the opportunity to learn quantitative trading and machine learning applied to trading from the Managing Director of JPMorgan AI research. I then decided to apply what I learned to my own capital, which is what I've been doing ever since.
